The Ministry of Culture Nuevo León and Despertares Impulsa® present Free Auditions Royal Ballet School® for the first time in Mexico, offering young ballet students the opportunity to audition in Mexico.

The invitation is for dancers and dancers of any nationality from 12 to 19 years of age .

Royal Ballet School® will not charge an audition fee.  

This audition marks another effort by the Nuevo León Ministry of Culture and the dancer Isaac Hernández® to bring young dancers closer to the possibility of continuing their professional training in a highly prestigious institution such as the Royal Ballet School.

Requirements

​

• Age 12-19 years

• Language: Advanced English (IELTS B1 or B2)

• Active visa or willingness to process it on your own

• Ballet level: intermediate or advanced

• Intermediate women: pointe experience

• Women advanced: points mandatory

Steps for the preselection

​

All applicants must complete the online questionnaire for the Royal Ballet School® auditions.

In this questionnaire you must send the documents described below.

Applications will close on July 20 at 11:59 pm.

Step #1: Documents and registration

​

Fill out the online questionnaire which you can go to by pressing the REGISTER button at the bottom of the page.

Men

​

Outfit

• White tight t-shirt or leotard.

• Dark leggings (no white, no dance shorts).

• White socks.

• Black or white ballet shoes.

• Hair perfectly groomed and combed, if you have long hair please tie it back (no headbands).

Women

​

Outfit

• Solid color leotard (not white, simple: no skirt, no ruffles, laces, high striking collar, or with multi-straps).

• Pink tights, or some color that matches your skin tone.

• Soft shoes (half pointe) and pointe shoes (only if they are already used).

• Perfectly groomed and combed hair. 

• Subtle/natural makeup, only if you want to use.

Step #2: Face-to-face audition

​

Travel and lodging must be covered by the person auditioning.

Upon being selected for the face-to-face audition, the following will be requested.

​

1. Portrait photo 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm at 300dpi.

   1. Perfectly groomed and combed hair. 

   2. Subtle/natural makeup, only if you want to use.

2. Filling out the parental consent form (available the day of the event). This ONLY IF YOU ARE A MINOR. It is delivered physically.

3. Sign image rights release document (can be consulted here) . IF YOU ARE A MINOR, your parents must sign. It is delivered physically.

4. Confirmation of personal data for filling out the audition format (the latter done by Despertares Impulsa).

Royal Ballet School® will review the documents and photos to select the dancers who will go to the face-to-face audition. All applicants will be informed of their results via email.

If selected, they will be informed of the time of their audition as well as any clothing requirements. It will be important that the image release format is delivered at the time of face-to-face registration, which can be downloaded from the button at the bottom of this page.
