Secretary of Culture Nuevo León in conjunction with Despertares Impulsa® present the Masterclass for Intermediate and Advanced levels taught by the main dancer Isaac Hernández®.  

Isaac begins his training at the age of 9 in the patio of his father, Master Héctor Hernández. So far he has been awarded  the prestigious 'Leonide Massine' and 'Alexander Radius' awards, in Holland and Italy respectively. That he was recognized as the most outstanding classical dancer in the Netherlands and the most relevant male dancer on the international scene in 2015 and has thirteen gold medals and three Grand Prix in the most important competitions in the world,  including the so-called Ballet Olympics (USA International Ballet Competition).

In 2018 he was awarded the 'Benois de la Danse' award in the category of Best Dancer, one of the most prestigious awards for dance in the world, which are awarded at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow and are considered the "Oscars" of the dance

Requirements

1. Intermediate level: 5 years of experience

2. Advanced level: more than 6 years of experience

3. Intermediate women: pointe experience

4. Women advanced: points compulsory

Steps for the preselection

​

All applicants must fill out the online questionnaire for the Masterclass. In this questionnaire you must send the documents described below.

Applications will close on July 20 at 11:59 pm

Step #1: Documents and registration

​

Fill out the online questionnaire which you can go to by pressing the REGISTER button at the bottom of the page. The following will be requested:

​

Video of 60 to 90 seconds dancing a classical piece. Please take care that hands and feet are visible at all times in the video. Do not zoom in or move the camera.

Clothing Men

​

• White tight t-shirt or leotard.

• Dark leggings (no white, no dance shorts).

• White socks.

• Black or white ballet shoes.

• Hair perfectly groomed and combed, if you have long hair please tie it back (no headbands).

Clothing Women

​

• Solid color leotard (simple: no skirt, no ruffles, laces, high striking collar, or with multi-straps).

• Pink tights, or some color that matches your skin tone.

• Soft shoes (mid pointe) and pointe shoes (Intermediate: only if already used. Advanced: required).

• Perfectly groomed and combed hair. 

• Subtle/natural makeup, only if you want to use.

Step 2: Class

When selected for the face-to-face audition, the following will be requested:

1. Be on time to class. You will have to do a "check-in" upon arrival. Please take this into account for your arrival time.

2. Bring your own hydration. Not allowed  the entrance with glass bottles.

3. Bring your own towel in case you need it.

4. Women's clothing

   1. Solid color leotard (simple: no skirt, no ruffles, laces, high striking collar, or with multi-straps).

   2. Pink tights, or some color that matches your skin tone.

   3. Soft shoes (mid pointe) and pointe shoes (Intermediate: only if already used. Advanced: required).

   4. Perfectly groomed and combed hair. 

   5. Subtle/natural makeup, only if you want to use.

5. Men's clothing:

   1. White tight t-shirt or leotard.

   2. Dark leggings (no white, no dance shorts).

   3. White socks.

   4. Black or white ballet shoes.

   5. Hair perfectly groomed and combed, if you have long hair please tie it back (no headbands).

6. Registration filling (the link to this will be shared once they are selected)

7. Filling out the parental consent form (available the day of the event). This ONLY IF YOU ARE A MINOR. If you are of legal age, you must sign the form. It is delivered physically.

8. Sign image rights release document (can be consulted here) . IF YOU ARE A MINOR, your parents must sign. It is delivered physically.
