JULIAN VENTURA (Mexico)

Julián Ventura Valero is a Mexican diplomat. He currently serves as the Ambassador of Mexico to the United Kingdom.

.

He entered the Mexican Foreign Service in 1990. He was promoted to the rank of Ambassador in 2006.

Within the Ministry of Foreign Relations he has held various positions.

He was Undersecretary for North America (2009 and 2013); Managing Director for Asia Pacific (2003-2007); Private Secretary to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs (2002-2003); and Private Secretary to the Undersecretary for Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and the United Nations (2001-2002).

Abroad, he has served as Head of Chancery at the Mexican Embassy in the United States (2007-2009); Alternate Representative to the Organization of American States (1998-2001); Responsible for Political Affairs and Press at the Embassy of Mexico in Cuba (1995-1998); and Alternate Representative before International Organizations based in Vienna, Austria (1990-1995).

Throughout his diplomatic career, he has been part of Mexican delegations to various conferences of the United Nations, the Inter-American System, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) and the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD).

He has a BA in History from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada)
